Every person wishes to drive like Schumacher, especially when a person is drunk and finds an empty road they think they are on the racing track and push the accelerator real high. They ignore the presence of speeding camera and police on a night patrol. This careless driving act leads to major problem where accused person is being charged speeding fines or sentenced to jail. Drink and drive are considered as very serious driving offence due to the increasing number of incident that take place every year. Excess intake of alcohol makes your mind unconscious and this state often leads to unforeseen incidents. The government has warned most of the people in UK with their strict rule and the results after getting arrested under drink driving offence.
Sometimes we all take driving laws very lightly and many of us don’t bother to keep these laws in mind but one faces a problem when the person is being stopped by the police. So, if you have forgotten some point of our road traffic laws then go through the following laws and penalties to re-acquaint yourself with our traffic laws.
Drink driving law, it is stated under the section 4(1); and the excessive intake of alcohol over the prescribed limit, this law falls under the section of 5(1); and if you refuse to give the specimen of blood or urine or breath to police that also is an offence that comes under the section 7(6), of road traffic law act 1988. If you break these laws the penalty will vary as per the damage you have caused and you might have to pay a fine of about £5000 or undergo imprisonment for about 6 months, or you might get disqualified for 1 year and if this crime is repeated twice in 10 years then you might get disqualified for three years. If you drive when you are in charge of the vehicle, and you are drunk; this law comes under the section 4(2) of road traffic law act 1988. The penalty for this crime is fine of £2500 or 3 months sentence in jail. If you have been disqualified and are still driving then this is also considered as crime under the section of 103 road traffic act, this will also charge you 6 months of imprisonment or £5000, and you may get disqualified again until you pass your re-test. If you drive on a public place or a road without any care and attention you can face problem because this offence comes under the section 3 as careless driving; you might be fined for £2500 and 3-9 points and you may be disqualified till you pass your re-test.
These are the road traffic law in UK that has to be kept in mind while driving. It is always advisable to keep the contact details of motoring offence lawyer handy because no one can predict about such problems. These lawyers are the only people who can help you to come out of such problems. Sometimes for fun we cross the speedo meter but do not realise that speed cameras are following us, this fun can make you pay speeding fines or it may cause a serious incident. The only person who can help you to drop your speeding fine is your speeding lawyer.
Whenever you are stopped by the police the only comment you must give that is “no comments” until your motoring offence lawyer arrives. You cannot trust anyone other than your lawyer.
